Epilogger on VentureCapTv
A couple weeks ago, VentureCapTv did a great interview with me, Ian and JS from FF. I rap a bit about what we’re doing while two of our advisors talk about the program we’re in. Thanks Kristina for the great vid!

We’d like to announce today that, after giving it much thought, we’ve decided to pivot the direction of Epilogger. Since being accepted to the tech accelerator we are taking part in, immense pressure has been put upon us to scrap our vision of Epilogger as THE place to see what’s coming up, what’s happening and what happened. Although we were stubborn at first we believe the wisdom of our peers and mentors is the best course and I am happy to announce that Epilogger will now focus on documenting the eventful lives of Unicorn Hunters, exclusively.
After weeks of soul searching and several confirmed unicorn sightings in the Toronto-Montreal corridor, we felt that Epilogger’s engine would be best used to help log the sightings of unicorns, confirm their location via mobile geolocation and assist the quickly growing unicorn hunting community bag and tag these beautiful creatures that have eluded countless pre-teen girls by marking their locations on the Google maps API. Since the name “Epilogger” was originally a portmanteau of the words “epilogue/epic and blogger/logger” we are fortunate not to have to rename our brand, as unicorns are indeed epic and we are logging their locations.
Our personal agenda is to expose the existence of unicorns, bring them into captivity, in order to help our team of wizards, warlocks, witches and necromancers (and scientists!) create a lucrative market for genetically modified, miniature versions of the full sized mythical beasts.
We encourage you to join our growing community of unicorn hunters by applying for a unicorn hunter’s license (see sample below). Click the following for a complete list of unicorn hunting regulations and rules put together by the experts over at Lake Superior State University.
“Why?” you may ask; the answer to that is a brilliant (and somewhat diabolical) plan cooked up by our business team to put an immediate end to kid-lit books and multimedia such as the Twilight series. We figure that if every girl could have a mini unicorn capable of granting small wishes while leaving little rainbow trails in their wake, it would be enough of a distraction to bring the current trend of sparkly vampires and wand waving to a grinding halt. For our male audience, we expect our new product will also curb the Brony movement to some degree.
We just hope that none of our future customers wish for a new Twilight book to be released.
Two weeks in Montreal and we get hungry. Quick update as we make you some spicy balls. A cameo from Chris Jones brings it all together.
We’re busy working away in Montreal but we’re never too caught up in it all for a friend. Today we wish Guy Gal a very happy birthday! Good on you, buddy.
Well, we made it through day 1 of Founderfuel. We’re just over an hour late to Notman House, so it’s all off to a good start. Rebecca joins us today and keeps track of our coffee intake.
Follow along with FounderFuel on Epilogger here!
Brooker and I are safe and sound in Montreal and Rebecca will be joining us later tonight. We thought it would be cool to post video blogs to update you all on our status as we move through the FounderFuel program so enjoy! We’ll update as much as we can and plan to share some funny stories. The Epilogger team is gearing up to kick some arse, but first we are getting settled.
Stay tuned and share!epiul
There’s still sawdust everywhere but we’ve finally launched our alpha to our list of original sign ups!
We’re proud to be able to show you our redesigned site and tweaked engine. I’d like to publicly recognize the hard work put in by our design and development team in helping to make this happen. Because of their hard work, we are giving the world a way to record history as it was experienced through the eyes of the people who experienced it at ground level. If you’re in the system have a look at Occupy Toronto and relive it if you were there, or catch up if you’ve only seen it as far as the 6 o’clock news. We’ve got it all.
If you’ve gotten an invite email, have a look around and play till your heart’s content. As with any product in alpha stage (not to be confused with a more polished open Beta) there are bound to be some unforeseen bugs and quirks. We encourage you to tell us by emailing team(at)epilogger.com with a description of the issue. We’re currently setting up a feedback system that should be up in the next day or two so keep an eye out for the floating “feedback” button as you Epilog your epicness.
New features will be added as we march on along with some more of the most popular social networks to be supported and we have a big announcement next month so stay tuned!
If you would like to get in on the beta enter your email on the front page and send some friends our way too. If there are any alpha slots open we will squeeze you in for the preview. We’re thrilled at how many of you have already gotten started.
Go forth and unleash epicness. We’ll remember.
Michael, Chris, Jonezy and Rebecca
Hey Epiloggers!
So after a period of head-down radio silence we’re coming up for air just long enough to tell you that we’ve been busting our butts for you!
I’m happy to announce that on Oct 11th, we will start rolling out limited invites to try out the alpha build of the new and improved Epilogger!
To the long list of people who have already signed up, we thank you sincerely for your patience and continued support. Check your email inboxes closer to the date and we will confirm with you to make you part of our first Alpha team. We want your feedback and will be listening.
If you’ve not signed up yet and want to help us make Epilogger more awesome, sign up for Epilogger now and we will put you on the list and you may just get your invite in the days following the 11th so get on it!
See you out there!
As we start to stoke the fires for the next build we want to put the call out to all of you to get in on the action.
For those of you who signed up early during the Code Your Art Out intro, you’re in and we look forward to hearing from you. Chris just set up a ticketing system for you all to use for feedback, bug reports, suggestions and all that good stuff. As valued beta testers we want you to help shape the look and feel of Epilogger since you all will be the ones using it and telling all your pals!
Go ahead and create an event and reflect on what works and does not, what you would like to see function-wise, and and all else you have on your mind. We promise to take your feedback into account as we continue the build to the next great version. Just be sure to make your events with care and fill out all the info!
If you have not yet signed up, please do and we will put you in the pool for more beta testers! Just click here to go to our sign up and say hi to us on twitter.
